HSIE (Human Society and Its Environment)

The Human Society and Its Environment (HSIE) Stage 6 courses offer students a rich and dynamic exploration of the world around them, focusing on disciplines such as History, Geography, Economics, and Business Studies. These courses are designed to develop students’ understanding of social, cultural, economic, and environmental issues, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to actively engage in contemporary society.

Through Stage 6 HSIE, students learn to critically analyse historical events and geographical phenomena, interpret data, and examine the impact of human activity on environments and communities. The curriculum encourages the development of essential skills such as research, critical thinking, evidence evaluation, and effective communication. Students are empowered to investigate sources, construct well-informed arguments, and present their findings clearly, both in writing and orally.
