VET (Vocational Education and Training)
At Chifley College Senior Campus, we are committed to providing students with valuable pathways that prepare them for further education, training, employment, and lifelong learning through Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses. Recognised by education experts and industry leaders, VET courses offer practical skills and nationally accredited qualifications that open doors to a wide range of future opportunities.
VET courses provide ‘dual accreditation’. This means students earn credits towards their school qualification - such as the Record of School Achievement (RoSA) or the Higher School Certificate (HSC) - while also gaining a nationally recognised VET qualification. Some VET courses include an HSC examination, the results of which can contribute to a student’s Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR), enhancing university entry prospects.
Many of our VET courses require students to complete work placement, giving them invaluable real-world experience and practical skills that prepare them for the workplace and future career opportunities.
Our VET offerings at Chifley College Senior Campus are both Board Developed courses and Board Endorsed courses.
Board Developed courses count as Board Developed unit credit for the HSC. They include an examination component that may contribute to the ATAR calculation, combining practical skills with academic achievement.
Board Endorsed Courses count as Board Endorsed unit credit for the HSC. They do not include an examination component and do not contribute towards an ATAR.
