What will I be doing in this course?
In Year 11 this course consists of three modules, whereas in Year 12 it consists of four modules. This is what will be studied:
Year 11:
- Mandatory Module: Achieving through English: English in education, work and community
- Elective Module: The Big Screen: English in Filmmaking
- Elective Module: Who do I think I am?: English and the self
Year 12:
- Mandatory Module: Common Module -Texts and Human Experiences
- Elective Module: We are Australian: English and citizenship, community and cultural identity
- Elective Module: Discovery and Investigation: English and the Sciences
- Elective Module: Playing the Game: English in sport
How will this course help me in the future?
This course teaches students how to find job advertisements, write resumes, cover letters, and prepare for job interviews. It also provides students with an understanding of all levels of literacy which are relevant for use in further studies as well as within the workplace.
