Home Economics:

The Home Economics faculty provides students with courses that develop knowledge and understanding about food production, nutrition, diet and health in Australia, as well as practical skills in planning, preparing and presenting food. Customer service, cultural awareness, problem-solving and decision-making are key skills developed in courses that have a practical focus.

The courses available through the Home Economics faculty of Chifley College Senior Campus aim to prepare students for life beyond school, for technical and further education and for university, and include:

Food Technology: an introduction to food selection, nutrition and food production in Australia; for students seeking an ATAR.

Hospitality: VET course; students may qualify for an ATAR and competent completion of all tasks entitles students to receive a Certificate II in Hospitality – Food and Beverage.

Work Studies: Food Industries: skills for life beyond school.
