Computer Applications

Course Description:

The aim of Computing Applications Stage 6 is to develop students’ capacity to be critical, ethical, competent and confident users of information and communication technologies in order to participate in a range of work, study and other life situations.

How will this course help me in the future?

Computer Applications is a ‘hands-on’ skills based course aimed at developing the student’s abilities to utilise hardware and software to complete a range of practical experiences in a broad range of topic areas.

It is approximately 20% theory and 80% practical.

Students will develop their knowledge and understanding of the role of computing in completing tasks to enable them to be confident users of the technology.

Students will also develop skills in evaluation and be able to discriminate in the use of this technology to accomplish a defined task, an essential requirement for most jobs in the current workforce.
